It’s been a long time since I’ve written here. I might start back writing about some of the shoots I’ve done over the last few years. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about! If you’re reading this, then you are doing it on my new and improved, totally redesigned website. I switched from Zenfolio to WordPress in an attempt to get away from Zenfolio’s ever increasing fees. When I first joined in 2011, it cost about $90USD. Now over the years it’s gone up to $165USD! It’s just one of the reasons why professional photography can be expensive.
I have almost no problems with Zenfolio’s service. It has served me consistently for the last 8 or so years. But the constant price raises along with a slowness to listen to user suggestions has driven me away. Also an updated design can’t hurt, can it?
I’ll try the WordPress platform and see how it works. It’s definitely not free. Hopefully, I’ll get close to feature parity with Zenfolio by using plugins. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any difficulties with the site or suggestions of what you would like to see.
