Split personality

May 1, 2012

I mentioned in my last post that I had another shoot with Krystal and Troy. The concept was about troy imagining the different sides of Krys’ personalities. There were 8 sides in all but we only had time to shoot 5. I’m not 100% satisfied with the result but hey you can’t win ’em all.

Our good friend Danielle lent us the use of her house for this shoot and we tried not to intrude too much. Jenilee was the MUA, she was good as usual, working through a really bad toothache. Hope you’re feeling better, Jen! In addition to being a model, Troy was also the art director.

In this shoot, I used a technique where I make it look like Krystal was cloned. It is something that I think I still have to perfect.

Anyways, here are my favourites:

Troy is supposed to do something with the photos, I’ll post an update when he finishes.

    I don’t understand the concept.

And I did not like how she looked on the couch in the green topless piece.

In hindsight, I don’t think I explained the concept well enough.

Basically, each “Krystal” that you see reflects a different side of her personality. One in all black is sexy, the one in green is crazy, etc. It was an attempt to show all the sides of someone’s personality in one photo.

The one in green actually isn’t topless, the top part is black and feathery and it blends in with her hair and shadow. She was representing Krystal’s “crazy” side.
