It’s been a few weeks. I’ve been busy with work like you wouldn’t believe!
I did a shoot with my friend, Kirah, for her birthday. The concept revolved around scarves, however we ended up straying from that a bit. She loves old places that have a bit of history in them so we tried out going to the old naval base/prison in St. Lucy. As usual, Troy was there doing his thing.
Before we started, I found a large spider sitting on the middle of a huge web sucking on a dead bee. It looked kind of interesting so we incorporated it into some of the shots.
During a change of accessories, she grabbed the cowboy hat that I happened to be wearing and I took this shot. Good thing my lights happened to be in the right place
After that, we moved inside to where the cells are. There we came up with this shot, among others.
There are other photos that I want to share but I’ll probably do that at a later date. For someone that doesn’t call herself a model, Kirah was really easy to work with. In her words the shoot was “so liberating!” Afterwards, the three of us spent the evening watching the sunset from the beach along the west coast while drinking coconut water and sherry, and eating cheese. The coconut vendor happened to share a birthday with Shakirah so it was a fun time. She wants to do it again so I’m looking forward to our next shoot in about 2 months.
