A young boy refusing to notice the notice
This is just something I happened to see and I ran for my camera to capture the moment.
There are some kids in my neighbourhood that like to play in the car park next door. There’s a pasture less than a minute’s walk from here but they seem to prefer a more urban play area. Some weeks ago one of them had an accident (nothing serious, really) and a few days later the sign above went up. Since then all the kids have been blissfully ignoring the sign with its bright red letters.
I snapped this photo as the children were holding a skateboard/scooter racing championship in the car park. This young chap was waiting for his race to start.
The way how I took the photo, I was trying to create a sombre mood. With the sign above him preventing him from getting up and playing even though he had his scooter with him. I kinda like like it even though it was extremely impromptu. I was hoping for a sadder expression but I didn’t want to interrupt the races and a few seconds later he was zipping down the driveway with his friends.
